Dropped in here yesterday to grab dinner for myself and 6 hungry teenagers at my house. Was pleasantly surprised how much food I got for $40. I ordered the chicken bites snack but when I got home I realized they had given me a chicken tender snack instead. Kind if disappointment but other than that mistake the food was good, service was friendly and helpful in picking out what to get.

I will never go back here. I got two of there BBQ chicken wraps and they smelled so bad that I felt like throwing up. Idk if it was bad chicken or really bad BBQ sauce but it made me not want to ever eat there again. I said something to the manager there and he said there was nothing wrong with it. Even my friend could smell how bad it was from across the table. When I asked for a refund the manager said he couldn't give me one cause nothing was wrong with the food. So I left without eating anything, I just went to KFC.

2.5 stars I'm not sure why but most of the people I know love this place. I've tried the chicken and the BBQ and both are mediocre. The chicken has tasted best when I've have had it at parties. Usually when we go in there is a good wait. The potatoes swim in oil.

I don't understand why anyone likes this place. The broasted potatoes are swimming in butter/ oil and the chicken has no seasoning or taste at all.

The chcken is either good tasting or no- tasting. We had them both but since the chicken is sort of expensive I expect good tasting all the time. The first time we came to this location was on the 50th anniversary for excellent tasting chicken. Since then, hit and miss, either WOW or WHAT IS THIS. My best guess is the chicken is either marinaded for a long time or just dipped in the juices and cooked.

The bbq chicken and broasted potatoes are fantastic! I'm not a huge fan of the fried chicken or cod, but the bbq is the best around.

Yep, yep, yep. This place is awesome. I love the chicken and the broasted potatoes. They do put a little TOO much oil on those potatoes, but let's be real: they add that extra taste. Most chicken places do that anyhow. I'm a person fan of chicken legs and these don't disappoint. I can eat a lot at one sitting. The cole slaw, though, brings down the star rating. It's not like your average slaw and I don't ever eat it, just tastes bland to me. The employees are always nice and the wait times are not that long. If I were you I would always call in advance so you aren't waiting for a while, as the place can get packed, especially on weekends.

Went out on my weekly dining for miles excursion and wanted some fried chicken & ribs. The Chicken Shack in Sterling Heights was on the list, and on the way of some errands, so decided to check it out on a weekend. Got a ribs combo with pork chops, a two-piece fried chicken snack, and fried mushrooms. Service took a while, understandable as it seems like CK cooks to order on the weekends. I had a little of everything in the restaurant while it was hot. All the meats were okay, nothing special. There was a lot of food, as I ate leftovers for another two days. An okay experience and a pretty typical chain experience. I'll eat here again, but I won't go out of my way to do so.

This place is both great and terrible. The ribs, bbq chicken wings, and coleslaw are good 95% of the time. The cod is good 70% of the time. The roasted potatoes are good 50% of the time. The fried chicken is not good... ever. They have quality control issues. Your experience will range from great to terrible depending on the phases of the moon.

I've purchased food from this location several times and most times the food is ok but many of the times the food was over cooked, undercooked, not good or just burnt. I called them to make them aware of the situation and let then know and each time they have said "bring the food back and we will replace it but no refund". Well, in this case I asked Mr husband to pick up food from there on his way home from work after he'd worked a long 10 hr shift. They were closing in an hr and I wasn't feeling well at all but I didn't want my husband to have to go back up there several miles away from home after such a long day at work so I had to drive all the way back to take the food and they do nothing for the inconvenience not even an apology. Btw, I spoke with the owner. This place sucks in customer service.

I know I made a good choice for lunch it I'm still talking about it 2 hours ago. IMO, Chicken Shack has the best coleslaw, hands down. Sweet, cream, bitter, tangy and cool. It's a party in my mouth! The chicken is lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had a trifecta of sauces to choose from. The honey mustard is unique (the main ingredient is BBQ sauce), the hot and spicy sauce is nothing special and I liked the BBQ is super sweet with a hint of savory. The broasted potatoes were sad and soggy. I'll stick to the fries next time. And there will be a next time.
